Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin confirmed wide receiver Speedy Noil is suspended for the Aggies’ 2016 season opener, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman.
Noil was suspended at the end of last season for two games, including A&M’s Music City Bowl loss to Louisville, for a violation of team rules. The suspension will carry over into the season opener against UCLA, however, it is not due to Noil’s latest incident.
The junior from New Orleans was arrested last week for driving without a driver’s license. He was released after posting bond. There will be no additional suspension for this latest incident. The 2014 Freshman All-American caught 21 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns in just nine games for the Aggies last season.
