Aggies fans can now feel better about Texas A&M’s 2016 class knowing that all but one of its signees has made it to campus.
On Tuesday, coach Kevin Sumlin told reporters that 3-star running back Rakeem Boyd has been cleared and participated in his first college practice. He will wear the No. 32 jersey and is a likely redshirt candidate this season.
Boyd signed with the Aggies out of Houston’s Stratford High School, where he rushed for 1,396 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior. He stacked up as the No. 23-ranked running back in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Defensive end Alton Robinson is the only member of the class who will not join the team this fall.
