Jimbo Fisher dove into the NFL ranks to add another notable name to his coaching staff as Texas A&M has reportedly hired Jerry Montgomery of the Green Bay Backers.
Montgomery spent the last three seasons as an assistant defensive line coach with the Packers after spending two seasons apiece for premier programs in the Big 12 (Oklahoma) and Big Ten (Michigan).

Prior to joining the Packers, Montgomery spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as the defensive line coach at Oklahoma, where he proved himself as a recruiter. Scout.com named Montgomery the Big 12 Recruiter of the Year following the 2014 season.
Before that, Montgomery got experience at Michigan, Wyoming and Northern Iowa.
With Fisher retaining assistant Terry Price from Sumlin’s staff, Montgomery will give the Aggies’ group up front another knowledgeable mind.
Price was the school’s defensive line coach from 2012-14 before coaching defensive ends the last three seasons.
