According to news first tweeted by Jeff Goodman of ESPN, Texas A&M has received a commitment from Deshawn Corprew out of Hampton, VA.
Corprew stands at 6-foot-5, 190 pounds and claims a four- star 247Sports composite ranking. The No. 22- rated small forward is a high-scoring wing who possesses the ability to put up points in bunches — and was considered one of the best remaining 2016 recruits still available.
He received 19 offers while playing for coach Isaac Pitts at the Quality Education Academy, and is a former Arkansas Little-Rock signee. Schools to offer Corprew include Kansas, Missouri, Texas and Florida State, among others. He is ranked 91st in the ESPN Top 100.
Last season, Texas A&M made it to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2007 before losing to the Oklahoma Sooners, 77-63. That team lost four starters from the roster, including forwards Jalen Jones and Danuel House.
