It appeared as if Chattman would be taking his talents to Tallahassee, Fla., leading up to National Signing Day. He had originally committed to Florida State on Jan. 24, two days after visiting campus, according to 247Sports.com. A Jan. 29 visit to College Station, Texas, may have been the difference in Chattman’s surprising decision. He received 12 reported scholarship offers including offers from SEC foes UGA, LSU and Mississippi State.
Chattman played both safety and outside linebacker for McDonogh 35 High School in New Orleans. He is rated as the No. 42 athlete in the country and the No. 29 player in Louisiana.
