Jim Turner is coming back to College Station, Texas.
Texas A&M announced on Saturday that it has officially hired Turner as its next offensive line coach. This will be Turner’s second stint with Texas A&M. He served as the school’s offensive line coach from 2008-11 before joining the Miami Dolphins in the same position.
“Jim Turner is one of the top offensive line coaches in the country and when you watch his units, they are excellent technicians and tough,” coach Kevin Sumlin said in a press release. “He is also an excellent evaluator of talent and recruiter.”
Turner has coached a couple of star offensive linemen in College Station, including first round NFL draft picks Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews. He also has served at Boston College, Temple and Cincinnati throughout his career.
