Texas A&M wide receivers coach Aaron Moorehead has issued an apology for his Wednesday night Twitter rant.
The string of tweets followed the de-commitment of five-star quarterback Tate Martell, and led to four-star wide receiver commit Mannie Netherly backing off his pledge shortly thereafter. Five-star wideout Tyjon Lindsey also announced that he was no longer considering the Aggies after seeing Moorehead’s tweets.
Moorehead sent out the following message Thursday morning:
“Last night, I made some impromptu comments on social media out of frustration and out of a true love for Texas A&M Football,” he tweeted. “I want to apologize to all of the young men in high school who work so hard to achieve their dreams of playing college football and I wish them all well wherever they end up. I also want to apologize to Coach Sumlin and the Aggie Family for not representing our university the right way. I need to do better and I will.”
