Texas A&M wide receiver Speedy Noil was on the receiving end of a brutal hit by Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson on a kickoff return in the first half Saturday.
Turns out, Noil is being treated for a right hamstring injury.
As reported by CBS Sports’ Allie LaForce in the second quarter, Noil was taken through the concussion protocol, which included eye tests. But Texas A&M’s medical staff had moved beyond the protocol and started working on Noil’s right hamstring, which had tightened up during the play. She said the Aggies’ training staff had been stretching Noil out. Noil also rode a stationary bike in an attempt to return to the game.
Alabama has dominated Texas A&M early at Bryant-Denny Stadium, racing out to a 13-0 lead in the second quarter. Both teams entered the game unbeaten, and the winner will have the inside track to winning the SEC West.
