Texas A&M had a brilliant National Signing Day and has seen its class go from potential disaster to one of the best in the SEC. Vernon Jackson is just the latest example.
Other than Georgia, no team in the country had a better day than Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies. That was true even before they added 4-star linebacker Vernon Jackson.
The Aggies haven’t officially announced the move yet, but it was confirmed by 247Sports’ Brian Perroni:

Jackson was previously committed to Alabama but mutually parted ways with the Tide earlier this week.
Texas A&M’s class is now firmly inside the top 20 as National Signing Day comes to a close. The Aggies also signed 4-star defensive end Jeremiah Martin, 4-star offensive lineman Tank Jenkins, 4-star defensive lineman Bobby Brown and 4-star quarterback James Foster. None of those players were committed prior to Wednesday.
Jackson joins a talented defensive group that already has players such as 4-star safety Leon O’Neal Jr. and 4-star defensive end Max Wright in the fold.
According to 247Sports composite rankings, Jackson is the No. 358 overall player in the Class of 2018. He’s listed as an athlete and projects to be an outside linebacker at the next level. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 240 pounds. He joins A&M by way of Boling (Texas) High School.
