Texas A&M 2018 quarterback commit Cade Fortin had an impressive weekend at the Corky Kell 7-on-7 tournament in Atlanta.
The rising senior at North Gwinnett (Ga.) High School is the No. 17-ranked pro-style QB in the nation. He’s very high on the Aggies as well as his own abilities.
He spent some time with SEC Country to discuss how his recruitment played out, which team will surprise the SEC in 2017, and what he’s looking forward to about the upcoming football season. Watch the interview and highlights from the weekend below:
“I can make all the throws,” Fortin said. “I’m a pocket passer who can run.”
The 3-star QB, according to the 247Sports Composite ratings, said his decision to go to A&M came down to the coaches believing in him. He’ll become the latest high-profile 2018 in-state quarterback to not attend Georgia.
“I was holding out maybe for Georgia, but they weren’t coming around,” he said.
Fortin plans to take his official visit to College Station the weekend of the Alabama game this fall.
