An ill-timed gesture has caused one Texas A&M freshman to apologize for his actions.
Freshman wide receiver Will Gunnell flipped two birds toward Aggie fans as Texas A&M ran back toward the locker room at halftime. The cameras caught the act, which then went viral.

Gunnell’s statement seems to come from the heart and reads like his own words. While the apology was necessary, he will live forever as the player who flipped off the fan base as a freshman.
The curious part of the statement comes from the portion where Gunnell says the gesture was “…in no way aimed at the fans.” It would be odd for anyone to just throw up two middle fingers if they weren’t aimed toward someone in particular.
He owned up to the mistake, but it remains to be seen if head coach Kevin Sumlin will issue any further punishment.
