UCLA coach Jim Mora is doing his best to prevent star sophomore quarterback Josh Rosen from going down an ugly path.
He’s trying to make sure Rosen doesn’t become the next Johnny Manziel.
While appearing Friday on The Rich Eisen Show, Mora discussed how he has handled one of the top college quarterback prospects in the country and had a bold message for the stud QB. Apparently, he doesn’t want Rosen following Manziel’s example.
“I’ve asked him “Who do you want to be Johnny Manziel or Tom Brady?” Mora told Eisen, according to Bruins Nation. “And, you need to make that decision right now and you need to start working in the direction that you want to work in. So, if you’re going to go out on Donald Trump’s golf course and wear a hat that says ‘F– Trump’, I said, ‘You’re heading towards Johnny Manziel.’”
Mora’s statement came in response to a picture on Rosen’s Instagram account that showed the former five-star high school recruit sporting an inappropriate hat directed at Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
Rosen certainly has as much, if not more talent than Manziel. Mora is clearly trying to eradicate any off-field concerns as quickly as possible.
