Texas A&M hasn’t beaten Ole Miss since 2013. That’s a lot of frustration building. What better way to take it out than with a huge tank and blowing a helmet to smithereens?
That’s exactly what some former Aggies’ linemen do in this video with the help of their famous father. The video stars Kevin and Mike Matthews with their dad, Bruce. Kevin and Mike both spent time in the NFL while their dad played in the league for almost 20 years and was a 14-time Pro Bowl selection, eventually ending up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The video begins with Kevin and Mike kicking and throwing an Ole Miss helmet. Then the video cuts to a tank rolling on tracks across a bridge, only to show Bruce at the helm. Bruce then aims the tank at the helmet and well…just watch:
Boom. All that’s left of the helmet is a huge crater while the pieces of the hard hat are nearly indecipherable. Even their brother Jake Matthews, a current lineman for the Atlanta Falcons, makes a cameo appearance.
So how did some former NFL lineman come into possession of an actual tank? The description under the video on Vimeo shows a special thanks to the Museum of the American G.I. in College Station, TX for letting them borrow the tank. This is almost more impressive than those weekly hype videos.
