Texas A&M wide receiver Boone Niederhofer looked in top form during Saturday’s spring game, tallying a pair of receptions for 21 yards and two touchdowns. He also made a diving catch on a long throw from Jake Hubenak that was ruled a sack.
The junior’s pass-catching prowess was certainly impressive, but the most entertaining part of his night came in the form of a celebration.
After his second score of the evening, the San Antonio, Texas, native decided to punt the football into the stands, which resulted in a penalty and made for an interesting souvenir.

Such a move could lead to harsh punishment during a regular season contest. But since this was a scrimmage, the 6-foot-1, 207-pounder and the rest of his team were able to laugh it off.
“I just go out there and try to have fun,” Niederhofer said during his postgame media availability. “It’s (our) last spring ball, so just doing whatever I can to get everyone excited — whether that means punting the ball or making a good catch. It’s all about having fun.”
When asked to rate his punt, Niederhofer said it was “very awful.”
At least the play the preceded it was great.
