UGA fans get good recruiting updates amid all the chaos

Coming off a 35-3 win over Charlotte on Senior Day, the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs (10-1) received a surprising update on 2026 quarterback commit Jared Curtis.

Controversy has sparked among Dawg Nation this week amid multiple developments suggesting the No. 1 QB and UGA commit may be flipping. Vanderbilt has made an extremely hard push for the Nashville native ahead of early national signing day on Dec. 3.

Tuesday, a source close to Curtis told Rivals he wants to “play as a true freshman at the school of his choice.”

“He does not want to sit,” the source told Rivals.

Friday, Vanderbilt’s only QB commit in the class of 2026 decommitted from the school. Many have speculated that this is due to knowledge of Curtis’s intention to flip to the Commodores.

But amid all this, there’s been some good news, too.

For starters, Georgia landed a commitment on Sunday. Linebacker Elijah Littlejohn from Charlotte, North Carolina, flipped his commitment from Penn State to Georgia. He is rated as a 4-star prospect in the class of 2026.

He did this after visting Athens for back-to-back games: the Texas game and the Charlotte one.

“I’m home,” Littlejohn posted. He actually was also considering Vanderbilt. So Georgia beat the Commodores for this one at least to land its 31st commitment for 2026.

And at the running back position, Georgia is now considered the leader for Kemon Spell out of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He ranks as the No. 1 RB in the 2027 class per 247Sports and as the No. 7 overall player.

According to On3’s recruiting wiz Hayes Fawcett, Georgia has now emerged as the leader for the 5-foot-10 and 210-pound ball carrier.

“After a handful of conversations, it’s clear Georgia has put itself in a really good spot,” Fawcett wrote. “The Bulldogs have started to separate themselves and have now emerged as the team out front in Spell’s recruitment.”

Additionally, Steve Wiltfong, the Rivals/On3 vice president of recruiting, went as far as to log his prediction that the Dawgs will land the talented running back.

Spell carried the ball 157 times for 1,681 yards and 24 touchdowns a season ago.

And lastly, Wiltfong also provided Georgia fans with some encouraging news regarding Curtis. Wiltfong informed fans that he had heard from his sources that Curtis actually informed some of his peers and some at UGA that he’s still very much committed to the Bulldogs.

Lots going on. The Dawgs currently have the No. 3-ranked class in the 2026 cycle, per 247Sports. They had the No. 2 class week.
