3 things every Vanderbilt fan needs to know today
Game day is less than a day away. All Vandy fans are expected to fill up the stands with black and gold Saturday. The Commodores (2-4, 0-3 SEC) will take on the Tigers (4-3, 1-3 SEC) for Homecoming weekend.
A new quarterback on the field won’t be on the only thing to watch out for on Saturday. The roads are something to look out for as well.
Here are three things to know:
- The closure of I-40/I-65 downtown will be an obstacle to face. Both Vandy and Mizzou fans will have to maneuver around. Expect traffic and take the interstate detour on the local streets south of downtown Nashville. The best surface roads to the game this Saturday are West End, 12th, 21st, Blakemore, and Church.
- Former Vanderbilt coach Woody Widenhofer understands exactly what coach Derek Mason is going through this season. Vanderbilt’s struggle on the offensive side of the ball and strengths on the defensive side of the ball have come into play all season. With Mizzou next up on the schedule, Vandy’s offense will need to step up its game.
- Tight end Steven Scheu is a Wuerffel Trophy nominee. With everything going wrong on the field for the Commodores this season, Scheu is doing something right off the field. The senior could potentially be awarded the top community service award in college football.
