Coach Derek Mason vowed to make several changes to Vanderbilt’s football team at the end of 2014, and he did just that by taking over the defense, hiring Andy Ludwig as offensive coordinator, and bringing in a new strength and conditioning coach. The Commodores are in position to continue improving next season.
Here are three things to know:
- Vanderbilt’s football season has come to a close, and SEC Country spotlighted its improved season. The Commodores earned an above average overall grade for the season, and a few key players really stood out.
- The Commodores elected linebacker Spencer Pulley, center Ryan White, and punt returner/safety Ryan White as the permanent captains of the 2015 season. Herring represents the defense, while Pulley represents the offense, and White represents special teams.
- LB Stephen Weatherly is Vanderbilt’s representative for the SEC Community Service squad. He contributes more than 10 hours weekly to two on-campus organizations.
