Jay Cutler has retired from the NFL and everyone assumes the broadcast booth is next, but what if Kristin Cavallari has other plans for the former Vanderbilt quarterback?
The former star of MTV’s hit reality show “Laguna Beach” and wife of everyone’s favorite grumpy-faced quarterback is getting back into the television game with a new reality series called “Very Cavallari” on the E! television network. And Cutler appears to be coming along for the ride!
In a one-minute teaser clip released Monday for the show’s upcoming series premiere, Cutler makes an appearance during a dinner scene during which he’s wearing a beanie indoors and cracking smart responses to his wife’s humble brags.
“Jay is a different breed,” Cavallari tells a friend in the promo clip. “He was always writing me love emails and love letters. I don’t know what happened.”
Cutler, who was sitting next to Cavallari, quipped back: “You decided to go to bed at 8:45 every night.”
The series premieres on Sunday, July 8 at 10 p.m. You can see the promotional video for the show here:
Cutler, who came out of retirement to play for Adam Gase’s Miami Dolphins after Ryan Tannehill was injury last preseason, appears to be done with football for good this time. He previously had signed a deal to be an in-game color analyst for FOX Sports.
Cutler finished a 12-year NFL career with 35,133 yards passing to his name, but many will remember him for the 160 interceptions that came along with his 227 career touchdown passes for the Dolphins (2017), Denver Broncos (2006-08) and Chicago Bears (2009-16). Now 35, the No. 11 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft has returned to Nashville, Tenn. with Cavallari and their three children.
