New Orleans WR set to make official visit to Vanderbilt
NEW ORLEANS — The SEC is calling, and it appears as if Kalija Lipscomb will answer.
The three-star wide receiver from Jesuit High School (New Orleans) will make his first of three official visits this month to Vanderbilt, a source told SEC Country.
“He’s excited about the trip for sure,” the source said. “He is really looking forward to be a part of somebody’s team in the fall.”
The offer to Lipscomb came in on Dec. 17.
Lipscomb and his family will head to Nashville, Tenn. on Jan. 15 before going to Northwestern on Jan. 22 and Nebraska on Jan. 29.
As far as decisions go, these visits will go a long way.
“(He) will be taking some visits over the next couple of months, and I think he’s ready to make a decision by the beginning of the year,” the source said.
Vanderbilt is the second SEC offer the 6-foot, 185-pound wide receiver has pulled in. His first — from Arkansas — was taken off the table after Lipscomb did not commit within a year of receiving it.
Lipscomb is rated as Louisiana’s No. 30 prospect.
