Vanderbilt added a pair of games to its future schedules on Wednesday, announcing a home-and-home series against UNLV. The Commodores will host the Rebels in the first-ever meeting between the two schools on Oct. 12, 2019.
UNLV will then host Vandy in 2023 to complete the series. The trip to Las Vegas will mark the first time that an SEC team will play a regular-season game there.
The Commodores have only played one previous game against a Mountain West Conference opponent, but they also have future matchups scheduled against Hawaii and Colorado State.
Vanderbilt’s schedules for future seasons are starting to come together. With the addition of UNLV, the Commodores have three non-conference games scheduled for 2019. They will also play Purdue (Sept. 7) and Northern Illinois (Sept. 27).
UNLV joins Wake Forest and Hawaii as non-conference opponents for Vanderbilt in 2023.
