Vanderbilt (2-3, 0-2 SEC) travels to face Kentucky (2-3, 1-2) at 4 p.m. Saturday in Lexington, Ky.
For two teams looking to make a bowl, this is a must-win game for each. The Commodores played No. 18 Florida close a week ago, losing 13-6, but Derek Mason’s decision to punt from Vanderbilt’s 43-yard line with under two minutes remaining added more fuel to the fire beneath his seat.
Kentucky, as expected, lost to top-ranked Alabama, but its defense showed improvement. Saturday will provide a battle of two of the most underrated running backs in the SEC with Vanderbilt’s Ralph Webb and Kentucky’s Boom Williams sharing the stage.
