Derek Mason and Vanderbilt already had their quarterback for the 2018 recruiting class in Allan Walters Jr. Now the Commodores have added another future offensive weapon to their class.
Miles Jones, a 3-star athlete who plays for Florida powerhouse American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., announced on his Twitter account he was committing to Vanderbilt.

Jones is listed at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds, which is a similar build to former Georgia wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who also played for American Hertiage. McKenzie went on to set the Georgia record for punt-return touchdowns and led the Bulldogs in receiving his junior year. Jones also had offers from Georgia, Kentucky and West Virginia per his 247page.
With a commitment from Jones, Vanderbilt now has two commitments in the 2018 class. It’s a promising start for Mason and company, especially when a strong recruiting class is needed after the 2017 class ranked last among SEC teams. Walter Jr. is a 4-star QB and the No. 11 pro-style QB at his position.
Walters seemed pretty excited about Jones’ addition to the class.
