Christmas commitments are in vogue.
Sean Auwae, a three-star center, continued that trend on Friday when he announced his commitment to Vanderbilt. Auwae spurned offers from UCLA and Arizona State, among others. He was originally committed to the Bruins but backed away from his pledge in November.
“It was really a tough decision for my family and I because all schools are such amazing schools and offer me great opportunities,” Auwae tweeted out. “And after much prayer and guidance I have decided to commit to the University of Vanderbilt.”
The 6-foot-4, 285-pound senior from Kapolei, Hawaii, is rated as the No. 5 prospect at his position.
Auwae is the 15th recruit to verbally commit to the Commodores and the third offensive lineman overall.
