Perhaps no team in college football has had a recruiting run like Vanderbilt has in the past week. And late on Friday night, the Commodores added another talented defensive back to their 2018 haul as Virginia safety DaShaun Jerkins committed.
Jerkins, the No. 10 player in the state of Virginia, is listed as a 5-1 safety out of Woodbridge Va., and is a 3-star recruit.
Jerkins posed with Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason on his visit and tweeted out his announcement.

With Jenkins now in the fold, the Vanderbilt class now has 11 commits in the class, with 7 of those commitments coming in the past 10 days. Jerkins also held offers from North Carolina, Louisville and Pitt.
The uptick in recruiting has boosted the Commodores to the No. 5 class in the SEC per the 247Sports Composite rankings and the No. 30 class overall. Last year, Vanderbilt had the No. 64 ranked recruiting class, which was the lowest rated in the SEC.
