Vanderbilt has five quarterbacks with at least two years of eligibility left after this season. But the Commodores will be adding three-star QB commit Deuce Wallace next year, and based on his highlight tape from last Friday, Vandy’s current crop of signal-callers should be worried.
Wallace, who tosses the rock for Sevier County High School (Sevierville, Tenn.), went 36-of-52 for 518 yards and four touchdown passes against Dobyns-Bennett last week.
According to Rivals, Wallace committed to coach Derek Mason and Vanderbilt in April, spurning a long list of schools including Northwestern, Wake Forest, Louisiana Tech and Temple.
One of Wallace’s primary receivers is a kid that he’s known his whole life: Younger brother Chase Wallace, a Class of ‘18 wideout for Sevier County. But baseball is probably in the cards for Chase, who was named to MaxPreps’ Underclassmen All-American Team this year.
